Dr. Gjerloev is an operational researcher specializing in applying decision sciences to inform healthcare services. After completing her BSc in mathematics and physics, she took time off from academia and worked at a healthcare software company for two years. There, she worked closely with several health care organisations concentrating on patient movement and financial assistance programs. Dr. Gjerloev went on to complete an MSc in physics at Imperial College London, focusing on astrophysics, and a PhD in Mathematics at University College London. During her PhD, she worked with the Clinical Operational Research Unit and integrated her expertise in electronic health record systems with operational research simulation techniques to support data-driven cancer care decision-making across multiple hospital systems.
